Social Media Flyer Word of Mouth Other Message Code of Conduct * I, as a parent/guardian, and the Athlete each acknowledge and agree that we have read and shall at all times adhere to and be bound by the Gretna Athletic Club's Code of Conduct as follows: Introduction. Gretna Athletic Club is committed to providing a safe, inclusive, and respectful environment for all participants involved in our tennis, track & field, and other athletic programs. This Code of Conduct outlines the expected behavior and standards of conduct for all individuals associated with the Gretna Athletic Club, including athletes, coaches, parents, officials, and volunteers. By adhering to this Code of Conduct, we aim to promote fair play, sportsmanship, and the overall well being of our participants. 1. Club Principles. Respect: All individuals involved with the Gretna Athletic Club are expected to treat one another with respect and dignity at all times. Inclusivity: Openness and inclusivity should guide all actions and decisions. We value the contributions of all athletes, families, coaches, and volunteers involved with our organization. Discrimination on any basis and bullying of any kind shall not be tolerated. Growth: We focus on physical and personal development through sport. We encourage our athletes to set and meet personal and team goals. Teamwork: We emphasize the importance of communication, collaboration, and support among teammates. Whether in practice or competition we will function as a team. Commitment: We are committed to instilling dedication, discipline and perseverance in our athletes while encouraging them to pursue as many athletic or extracurricular endeavors as they find interesting, whether offered by the Gretna Athletic Club or other organizations. Community: We strive to build a sense of community among our athletes, families, coaches, and supporters through interactive and enjoyable practices and competitions. Safety: The health and safety of our athletes and coaches is our highest priority. We won’t compromise either when conducting our athletic programs. Fun: When our athletes enjoy attending practices and competitions we’re succeeding as an organization. We’re dedicated to creating a fun environment for our athletes to learn and develop new athletic skills. 2. Athletes’ Code of Conduct. Conduct: Display good sportsmanship and respect for coaches, officials, teammates, opponents, and spectators at all times. Participation: Attend all practices and competitions as scheduled. If you cannot attend, notify your coach in advance. Behavior: Refrain from engaging in any behavior that is disruptive, abusive, unsportsmanlike or detrimental to the organization or sport. This includes physical altercations, verbal abuse, and bullying, for which we have a zero-tolerance policy. Effort: Give your best effort during practices and competitions, and strive to improve your skills and knowledge of the sport. Compliance: Follow all rules and regulations set by the organization, coaches, and officials and accept and respect the decisions made by the organization, coaches and officials. 3. Parents’/Guardians’ Code of Conduct. Support: Parents/guardians play a crucial role in supporting their child's participation in Gretna Athletic Club’s programs. Parents/guardians shall provide positive encouragement and support to your child and all participants. Respect: Respect the decisions of coaches and officials. Do not interfere with or criticize their decisions publicly. Communication: Address any concerns or issues directly with the coach or relevant staff in a respectful manner. Avoid discussing concerns in front of children or other participants. Behavior: Refrain from engaging in any behavior that could be perceived as disruptive, abusive, or unsportsmanlike. This includes inappropriate comments or actions toward other parents, coaches, or officials. We reserve the right to remove anyone from our practice sessions and competitions based on inappropriate behavior. 4. Coaches’ Code of Conduct. Leadership: Provide clear, constructive instruction and demonstrate fair play and sportsmanship at all times. Safety: Prioritize the safety and well-being of all athletes. Ensure that practices and competitions are conducted in a safe environment. Respect: Treat athletes, parents, officials, and other coaches with respect and professionalism. Development: Focus on the development of each athlete’s skills, character, and enjoyment of the sport. Avoid favoritism and provide equal opportunities for all participants to learn and grow. Compliance: Follow and enforce all organizational rules, guidelines, and policies. 5. Volunteers’ Code of Conduct. Support: Assist in creating a positive and supportive environment for all athletes, parents, coaches and supporters. Respect: Show respect to athletes, parents, coaches, supporters and fellow volunteers. Maintain a professional demeanor at all times. Responsibility: Perform duties responsibly and in accordance with our organization’s policies and procedures. Behavior: Avoid any behavior that could be seen as disruptive or unprofessional. Address conflicts or issues through proper channels. We reserve the right to remove any volunteers from our practice sessions and competitions based on unprofessional or inappropriate behavior. 6. Consequences of Misconduct. All participants are expected to comply with this Code of Conduct. Failure to do so may result in disciplinary actions, including but not limited to verbal warnings, written warnings, suspension, or termination of participation in the organization’s programs. Disciplinary actions will be determined based on the severity of the violation and will be handled fairly and consistently. Gretna Athletic Club reserves the right to investigate any reported violations of this Code of Conduct and take appropriate action based on the findings.
