The Gretna Running Club

aims to introduce athletes in 1st-6th grades to age-appropriate track and field events. During our sessions your athlete will learn the basics of running, jumping, and throwing from experienced track and field student-athletes and coaches who compete and coach in our community.

Athletes are organized into teams by age and skill level and each practice they complete station work highlighting specific skills or events relevant to the sport of track and field. Instruction within each station is tailored to each team’s skill level to ensure our athletes continue to grow and develop while still being challenged.

Our session concludes with an intramural track meet where each athlete has the opportunity to compete in up to 3 events he or she enjoys. Our track meet is intended to offer our athletes the opportunity to compete against one another and display their abilities in an encouraging, supportive, and low-stress environment.

We’re thrilled to offer our next Gretna Running Club session in Fall 2026. The session cost remains $75/athlete and participation is limited to 48 athletes. Our session will again be held at GILES CREEK MIDDLE SCHOOL on the dates and times shown below. REGISTRATION IS OPEN. Please contact us with any questions.
